homes for our troops
Board Member
In the fall of 2017 Patrick joined the board of Homes For Our Troops, a private non-profit dedicated to giving back to disabled post-9/11 veterans. Since its founding in 2004, HFOT has built over 250 specially adapted homes nationwide and gifted them mortgage-free to veterans. The homes are built in locations of the veterans' choice, and HFOT works closely with their recipients from project inception through home delivery and beyond to ensure the veteran and their family are satisfied. Since 2004, nearly 90 cents per dollar raised have gone to HFOT's program services. This is made possible through a combination of corporate partners, private donors and community fundraising that is truly inspiring. As such, HFOT has received Charity Navigator's Four Star rating, their highest honor, for seven years running.
Patrick had the pleasure of attending the 'Community Kickoff' event for Sgt. Lyndon Sampang's home in Gettysburg, PA in January, 2018.
“HFOT builds homes as a departure point for these Veterans to rebuild their lives, and once again become highly productive members of society. Despite their life-altering injuries, many of our Veterans have embarked on new careers, completed their college degrees, or started families. Empowered by the freedom a donated specially adapted custom home brings, these Veterans can now focus on their recovery and returning to their life’s work of serving others.”
